The Execution of Klitschko

by admin on June 28, 2011

This coming Saturday, July 2, should prove exciting in Hamburg, Germany when David Haye fights Wladimir Klitschko.  This will be the culmination of a 3-year battle of words between the two.  Haye, the underdog, has promised the fight will be a “brutal execution” of Klitschko.  But then throughout the pre-fight trash talk Haye has always been boisterous and cocky.  “You are going to see the most brutal execution of a boxer,” Haye claimed at Monday’s final press conference.  Haye referred to Klitschko as a robot stuck in his ways since the amateur days.  Haye (25-1, 23KO) has promised to destroy Klitschoko (55-3,49 KO) and send him to the hospital.

Monday’s press conference was delayed about 2 ½ hours waiting for Haye to show up.  When he did Klitschko admonished him by referring to Haye as a princess and telling him he needs to be on time for the fight.  Throughout the build up to the fight Haye has held a not so subtle disdain for Klitschko, as well as his older brother Vitali.  Haye even wore a t-shirt depicting him holding the severed heads of the Klitschko brothers.  Wladimir promised to make Haye eat that shirt.  Haye has also steadfastly refused to shake Klitschko’s hand.  When asked why Haye replied he would shake Klitschko’s hand in the hospital.

Klitschko stated that Haye looked to be in good shape.  He stated that he would be challenged in the ring but Haye would be punished through 12 rounds before being KO’d.  Haye also acknowledged that Klitschko looked to be in great shape but added that come fight night it will be a different story.  Haye concluded by saying, “I am ready to do what I always promised I would do. I am healthy, the speed is ridiculous, the punch power is there. I am in a really good place.” Remember, that you can follow Haye vs Klitschko live streaming and enjoy the fight live online!
